Terms of Service
Effective 15 May 2026
These terms govern your use of the Togi iOS app and the gettogi.app website. The service is published by ByteBricks, a company based in Switzerland. By installing or using Togi, you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, do not install or continue to use the app.
1. Acceptance of terms
You accept these terms the first time you launch Togi or create an account. If you use the app on behalf of an organisation, you also confirm you have authority to bind that organisation. If we update the terms, the effective date at the top of this page changes and material updates are announced inside the app on next launch.
2. The service
Togi is a sharpening coach for knife enthusiasts. It reads the geometry of an edge through your iPhone camera, assigns a numeric sharpness score, and proposes a session plan you can follow on whatever stones and steels you already own. Togi is hardware-agnostic: it does not require a Togi-branded stone, a particular guide, or any accessory beyond your phone, a stone or strop, and a knife.
Togi requires iOS 17 or later. Older iOS versions are not supported.
3. Account and sign-in
You can sign in with Apple or with an email sign-in link. You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID or email account secure. We treat any session authenticated through your credentials as authorised by you. If you lose access to your sign-in method, write to support@gettogi.app and we will help you recover the account where possible.
You must be at least 17 years old to use Togi. The app handles sharp objects and is not designed for younger users.
4. Subscription terms
Togi offers three paid plans, all sold through Apple's in-app purchase system. Prices are quoted in US dollars and are converted to your local currency by Apple at checkout.
- Annual. $79.99 per year. Includes a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. The trial converts to a paid year unless you cancel before it ends.
- Monthly. $14.99 per month. No trial.
- Lifetime. $179.00, one-time payment. Grants the full feature set for the lifetime of the app on Apple's platforms.
Subscriptions auto-renew at the price published in App Store Connect at the time of renewal, unless you cancel at least twenty-four hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel or manage renewals in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's published policy; we do not process refunds directly.
Deleting your Togi account does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel the subscription separately in App Store settings.
5. Acceptable use
Use Togi the way it was built to be used: to learn, measure, and sharpen. You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source from the app, except where that right is granted to you by mandatory local law. You agree not to abuse the steel- identification or coaching features by submitting content that is unrelated to knife sharpening or that is intended to probe, jailbreak, or otherwise manipulate the underlying models. You agree not to use Togi to harass, defame, or harm anyone.
6. Disclaimers
Read this section carefully. Togi works with sharp implements.
The sharpness scores, angle readings, and coaching plans Togi produces are guidance, not commands. They are estimates drawn from photographs and on-device models, and they can be wrong. You are responsible for handling your knives and stones safely, for inspecting your edge before and after each session, and for stopping any time the guidance seems off. Sharpening is a tactile craft; the app is a coach, not a substitute for your own judgement.
ByteBricks is not liable for damage to knives, stones, strops, work surfaces, or any other property arising from your use of Togi. ByteBricks is not liable for personal injury arising from the act of sharpening or from contact with a sharp blade. Sharpening carries risk; please proceed with care, with adequate lighting, with a stable surface, and without distractions.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by Swiss law.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Swiss law, ByteBricks' total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or to your use of Togi is limited to the amount you paid ByteBricks through Apple's in-app purchase system in the twelve months preceding the claim. ByteBricks is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
Nothing in this section limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be limited under Swiss law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive forum for any dispute is the competent courts at the seat of ByteBricks in Switzerland, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection venue that applies in your country of residence.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If we make a material change, we will announce it inside the app on next launch and update the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the app and delete your account.
